The P.N. bar, with high breakout and precision seed placement gave excellent crop establishment this year. Below-seed cultivation allowed root development during the dry June of 2003. Plant roots penetrated the sub-soil moisture from the early April rains.
The large diameter, wide press wheel gives low ground pressure, creating
good seed/soil contact without over-pressing but maintaining water-harvesting.
The low ground pressure Trelleborg tyres give the bar good flotation
in the wettest conditions.

After researching the No-Till machinery market options for 3 years we decided on the Primary-Nichols bar because of our absolute need for seed/fertiliser placement accuracy and water harvesting capability.
We bought 260mm row spacings to begin with and were impressed with what could be managed from a very dry year.Crop results confirm the seeder lives up to what it promises and we have made significant gains from its adoption.
We have now put in our second crop using this bar with the spacings adjusted to 300mm to further improve chemical incorporation and water use and both these factors are highly evident in this year's crop. Even with lupins, which can be difficult to achieve full germinations from, our agronomist gave us 10 out of 10 !
If we had discovered this seeder bar five years earlier it would
have saved us a lot of frustration suffered in trying to get to where
we are now.

"The Primary-Nichols bar exceeded our expectations with its ability to accurately place the seed row 25mm above the lower band of fertiliser and urea. Its durable construction and heavy-duty design enabled us to deep- rip in less than optimal moisture conditions.
Flotation was also very good, even in our light soils."
